I have this same trouble
Does your BIOS setup screen still show? Some don't fifty-fifty have that and accept to connect another monitor to know what is going on. Others have innovative methods of playing bullheaded in social club to go to the Advanced Options screen where VGA mode can be enabled. That's bold that their keyboard works, of course. ; )
If y'all are on the lock screen and you think your keyboard is working, try hitting Tab a few times (and make certain that your speakers are turned on. <w>)

None of the keys that google tells me could bring me to the BIOS screen (F1, F2, etc) does anything. I guess I don't really know if my keyboard is working, but I tin can't imagine what would make the keyboard croak after just a few months. I don't know what hitting tab is meant to do, but information technology does nothing. I don't have external speakers.

Practice you have anything else you can boot? Otherwise you may have to press those keys before you lot power on to try to go them loaded for the BIOS to see. Due east.k. your BIOS kicking options may be saying boot "quietly" which means try to boot from the first bootable device ASAP. "Bootable device" may give you a workaround, once again, depending on your settings. Due east.chiliad. having a bootable DVD, or USB stick, or floppy disc might requite you plenty time to go into your BIOS screen too. Or at least boot something other than the trouble partition.
I don't know what hit tab is meant to do, but it does nothing. I don't accept external speakers.
Then hitting Tab won't help. Typically, after 2 presses you would take hitting the Accessibility bill of fare which would have let Narrator give you a clue about your location on the screen. Then you lot could have enabled Narrator and let it guide you around in the darkness. ; )

Thanks for your thoughts, Robert. Four hours with Sony tech support and one full arrangement recovery afterward, I'1000 back on my calculator. Pretty hideous problem to get out of nowhere on a basically brand new computer. I think Windows eight yet has some bug.

This should bypass your problem. Run across answer below. Okay - this happened to me yesterday and I purchased a new laptop. Afterward hitting several keys I was able to get past the lock screen and into my loving screen. Today it happened again and I almost sent this thing back in just I don't know if this is a glitch (which I'chiliad sure it is) on Microsofts role. Here is the Fix: On your laptop, if you striking the right mouse button, the lock screen goes abroad and your login screen comes up. If subsequently a minute or so you exercise not enter your password - it goes back to that lock screen over again. Not sure what is up with this and information technology'south totally idiotic but that's the prepare. Right click push button on your mouse expanse on keyboard. If this works for others, let me know - I'd like to know if at least ane person got some helpful advice from this.

Try pressing esc when you boot your reckoner. This will stop the boot and probably bring upwardly the list of hot keys to apply to access the BIOS.

Right Click Mouse Button does nada for me... the Lock Screen goes away... the cursor first spinning, the screen goes black, so the Lock Screen comes back! Because the ability button put machine to sleep and not a shutdown, I will have to run the car out of power to practise a full restart etc.
